FAQs

What is a Community Library?

A Community Library is usually an independent library set up as a charity (or similar) and which is run entirely by unpaid volunteers.

Do you accept books?

Yes, we are very happy to accept most books (and audio books) so long as they are in good condition, clean and undamaged and no missing pages (or CDs). Yellowing of pages may not be a problem – if in doubt about yellowing of pages, bring the book in for us to check.

Please note that we may have to suspend accepting book donations from time to time at short notice; this may be because we need time to process existing book donations and free up some space or because we are having building works done and have no space for donated books whilst the building works are carried out.

Please check with us before bringing in any donated books otherwise you’ll have to take them back again or find an alternative place to take them.

How does the coronavirus affect me and the Library?

Please refer to the Coronavirus Covid-19 section on our Welcome page where updates will be found.
